What are Science Fiction movies?
Science fiction movies is a genre of movies that uses speculative,
science-based depictions of imaginary phenomena such as
extra-terrestrial lifeforms, alien worlds, and time travel, often
along with technological elements such as futuristic spacecraft,
robots, or other technologies. Science fiction films have often been
used to provide social commentary on political or social issues, and
to explore philosophical issues, such as "what makes us human."Such a
topic is obviously one of the most thriling ingredients to be made a
movie on and thus captures and facinates a large comunity of people
who love watching such stories mixed up with extraordinary direction
put into it.

THE MATRIX (1999) [Science Fiction Movies] Computer hacker Thomas Anderson has lived a relatively ordinary life--in what he thinks is the year 1999--until he is contacted by the enigmatic Morpheus who leads him into the real world. In reality, it is 200 years later, and the world has been laid waste and taken over by advanced artificial intelligence machines. The computers have created a false version of 20th-century life--the "Matrix"--to keep the human slaves satisfied, while the AI machines draw power from the humans. Anderson, pursued constantly by "Agents" (computers who take on human form and infiltrate the Matrix), is hailed as "The One" who will lead the humans to overthrow the machines and reclaim the Earth. Star Wars (2005) [Science Fiction Movies] It is 3 years after the Battle of Geonosis... Politican Chancellor Palpatine has been kidnapped by General Grevious, the evil commander of the Droid Army and renegade Jedi Count Dooku. Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his apprentice Anakin Skywalker comes to the rescue and Anakin kills Count Dooku and frees Chancellor Palpatine, but General Grevious escapes. On Coruscant, Anakin learns his secret wife, Padme Amidala is pregnant and Anakin begins having horrible nightmares of Padme dying giving birth. The Jedi council assigns Anakin to spy on Chancellor Palpatine, as Anakin is forming a close friendship with the politician. As Obi-Wan and a platoon of clone troopers are sent to the planet Utapau to destroy General Grevious and put a end to the war. Anakin learns Chancellor Palpatine is the mysterious Sith Lord Darth Sidious and is the mastermind behind the war, and he converts Anakin to the Dark Side and Anakin becomes the evil Sith Lord known as Darth Vader, believing the powers of the Dark Side will save Padme from death. With Anakin turned to the Dark Side, could this mean the fall of the Republic and the end of the Jedi Order. Aliens (1986) [Science Fiction Movies] Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the sole survivor of the alien attack on the mining ship Nostromo, awakens half a century later when she is found by a salvage ship. The welcome given to her by the "Company" officials is far from warm, since they refuse to believe her discovery of alien existence and strip her off her flight officer's license. Ripley also discovers, much to her horror, that the planet LV-426 where her crew had encountered an alien species for the first time, is now colonized by the company. But when all contact from the planet is lost Ripley is called back into action again as an advisor to a team of tough space marines with lots of firepower. To get rid of her recurrent nightmares about the alien creature, Ripley prepares for a final battle with the monsters - and this time, there are hundreds of them out there. Metropolis (1927) [Science Fiction Movies] In the future, the society of Metropolis is divided in two social classes: the workers, who live in the underground below the machines level, and the dominant classes that lives in the surface. The workers are controlled by their leader Maria, who wants to find a mediator between the upper class lords and the workers, since she believes that a heart would be necessary between brains and muscles. Maria meets Freder Fredersen, the son of the Lord of Metropolis Johhan Fredersen, in a meeting of the workers, and they fall in love for each other. Meanwhile, Johhan decides that the workers are no longer necessary for Metropolis, and uses a robot pretending to be Maria to promote a revolution of the working class and eliminate them. TERMINATOR2 THE JUDGMENT DAY (1991) [Science Fiction Movies] Sequel to Terminator. Skynet, the 21st century computer waging a losing war on humans sends a second terminator back in time to destroy the leader of the human resistance while he is still a boy. His mother is the only one who knows of the existence of the Terminators, human-like robots that exist only to kill and are nearly indestructible, and Sarah, the boy's mother is currently in a state mental hospital because of her 'delusions'. A second protector is sent back to the past by the Human resistance to protect John Connor, their future leader, at all costs.
